明德合唱團於1988年草創,最初為費城西郊明德中文學校家長的聯誼活動.創始團員皆為女士,1992年起開始有男士加入,並命名為明德合唱團.本團宗旨是傳揚中華民族的音樂文化,活躍華人社區生活,以歌會友,美化人生,使後代耳濡中華音樂之美,更欲將中華文化推介到美國社會,以增進民族融洽.歡迎同好者加入.

Ming De Chorus was originally formed in 1988 by femal parents of Ming De
Chinese School. Male singers started joining the group in 1992, and the name
Ming De Chorus was adopted. The goals of Ming De Chorus are to preserve and
promote the beauty of the Chinese musical traditions, to provide a lively
cultural and social activity for the local Chinese community, and to promote
an understanding betwwen the Chinese group and other ethnic groups in the
community. The group is open to the general public.
